Apollo’s most recent patent, entitled Bifocal Multiorder Diffractive Lenses for Vision Correction, was issued on June 19, 2007. This patent describes the use of AOS’s Multiorder Diffractive (MOD) technology to produce multifocal ophthalmic lenses. In particular, it is shown how to use the unique chromatic properties of MOD lenses in conjunction with the photopic and scotopic responses of the eye.
