As President of Apollo Optical Systems since June of 2005, his main responsibility is to establish volume manufacturing capabilities in injection molding and assembly of polymer optical components. He is also responsible for the business development and customer interfaces.
His extensive experience and success in polymer optics ensures that Apollo’s molding operation will be efficiently and effectively run and structured to meet customer requirements.
From 2003 to 2005 Tribastone was the Business Development Manager for Thales Polymer Optics. He was responsible for developing many aspects of the California based injection molding operation. The results were positive as new business opportunities grew significantly.
During 1999 to 2003, Tribastone was involved in various startups and manufacturing businesses that had a common theme of efficiently and successfully run operations.
From 1989 to 1999, Tribastone was a co-founder of Opkor inc. in Rochester, NY. The operation ran successfully for 10 years prior to being acquired by OCLI of Santa Rosa, California. Over that period, it had developed a world wide reputation as company that integrated in one facility all the design and manufacturing capabilities for polymer based optical products.
Eastman Kodak employed Tribastone from 1978 to 1989 as a senior manufacturing engineer in both high volume assembly and injection molding of optical components. Tribastone was involved in several significant high volume programs in the disc and disposable camera programs.
He is a member of various optical societies and received his education via Monroe Community College and Brockport State.
