Apollo Optical Systems Builds New Injection Molding Facility

Rochester, New York — Apollo Optical Systems Inc., a global leader in polymer injection molded and diamond turned optical components, announced that will move its Injection molding and high volume manufacturing into a new facility in Henrietta NY, where it intends to manufacture Parabolic Concentrators, Image components for Heads Up Displays, diffusers for lighting applications and many other refractive and diffractive optical components. The project will represent a major investment in new state-of-art injection molding machines, metrology equipment and facility improvements. The additional 12,000sq/ft of manufacturing space at 925 John Street is approximately 3 miles from the current facility located at 330 Clay Rd. Rochester NY.

“This is a significant investment by Apollo Optical to expand our manufacturing and metrology capacity in the US. This will allow us to react more quickly to the growing needs of our customers,”

-Claude Tribastone, President of Manufacturing at Apollo Optical Systems, Inc.

Last month Apollo Optical Systems announced that it had been selected by a Tier 1 automotive company to provide opto-mechanical engineering designs and optical injection molded components to one of its customers. The side object detection system will be the first of/its kind that is light-based versus the traditional sonar and radar based systems currently being used.

This new facility and equipment will also enable Apollo Optical Systems to produce high volumes of micro structured light shaping diffusers. This is part of the response to the growing demand for optical components in the LED and light distribution market,”

– Daniel McGarry, President of Apollo Optical Systems, Inc.
