Apollo Optical Systems brings together a legacy of photonics innovation and practical manufacturing knowledge. Our history began with Rochester Photonics Corporation, founded in 1989 as a spin-off from the University of Rochester’s Institute of Optics to advance diffractive and micro-optics. Following a management buyout in 2002, Apollo Optical Systems was created to continue that work with an end-to-end approach. Today, our Rochester, NY facility supports precision polymer optics through optical and mechanical design, diamond turning, injection molding, coating, metrology, and assembly. We work with teams in medical and life sciences, aerospace and defense, industrial systems, lighting, automotive, and consumer markets. Our focus is clear: help customers manage complexity, verify performance, and build dependable pathways from new product ideas to scalable optical solutions.
