Apollo Optical Systems carries forward a Rochester optics legacy that began in 1989 with Rochester Photonics Corporation, a University of Rochester Institute of Optics spin-off. Its founders set out to move diffractive and micro-optics from research environments into broad commercial use. Following the closure of Corning Rochester Photonics Corporation, Apollo was established through a management buyout on December 31, 2002. Today, Apollo operates from a 21,000-square-foot Rochester, NY facility with advanced design, manufacturing, coating, assembly, and metrology capabilities. Our vision is to be a dependable long-term partner for customers whose products require precise, scalable optical solutions.
