Our roots trace to Rochester Photonics Corporation, founded in 1989 as a spin-off from the University of Rochester’s Institute of Optics to bring diffractive and micro-optics beyond the research lab. Following a management buyout, Apollo Optical Systems was created on December 31, 2002. Today, our team operates from a 21,000-square-foot Rochester, NY facility with capabilities spanning optical and mechanical design, diamond turning, polymer injection molding, coatings, assembly, and metrology.
